That means the pipework and connections behind the wall as well as the visible fittings: running the supply where the new position needs it, setting the tray level so it drains properly, sealing the enclosure, and testing the whole thing before we leave. Most shower faults are worth repairing rather than replacing. We diagnose the actual cause instead of guessing — a failed element or cartridge, a scaled-up or seized thermostatic valve, a restricted supply, or a leak that has started tracking into the floor. Then we replace the part, service the valve or correct the supply, and check the pressure and temperature across the range before we finish. If a repair will do the job we will say so rather than sell you a new unit.
Thermostatic shower valves
A thermostatic valve is what stops your shower running cold the moment a tap is turned on elsewhere in the house, and what stops it running dangerously hot. They do wear: cartridges scale up, heads seize, and temperature control drifts. We fit new thermostatic valves, replace failed cartridges, service and clean existing ones, and set them back to a safe, stable temperature.

We accept cash, bank transfer and card payments — card payments are subject to a small processing fee. Scale is what kills most East London showers
London is a hard water area and a shower is where that shows up first, because it combines heat, pressure and small openings. Scale narrows the holes in the head until the spray pattern goes ragged and the flow drops; it coats the element in an electric shower until the unit struggles and eventually fails; and it furs the cartridge in a thermostatic valve until the temperature wanders or the control seizes altogether. The useful thing about that is how often it is repairable. An electric shower heats cold mains water as it passes through, so its kilowatt rating determines how much water it can warm to a comfortable temperature at once — and that is also why the same shower feels weaker in January than in July, when the incoming mains is several degrees colder and the unit has further to lift it. Fitting a higher-rated unit is not simply a matter of unscrewing the old one: the rating has to suit the existing electrical circuit and the cable serving it, as well as the incoming water pressure. We look at the existing installation before recommending anything, tell you plainly what your supply will and will not support, and where new electrical supply work is needed to run a higher-rated unit we say so up front rather than discovering it half way through. Mixer showers have a different constraint — they depend on your existing hot water system and its pressure — and we will talk through which type actually suits your property before you buy.

We can. We work with brand suppliers and can arrange the shower and enclosure for you, or fit a unit you have bought yourself — whichever suits you better.
What is the difference between an electric and a mixer shower?
An electric shower heats cold mains water on demand inside the unit, so it works independently of your hot water supply. A mixer shower blends existing hot and cold water from your system. Which suits you depends on your existing plumbing, and we will talk it through with you before quoting.
Why is my shower pressure weak?
Common causes are a blocked or scaled shower head, a restricted or partially closed supply valve, a failing pump or cartridge, or a wider supply pressure problem. We diagnose which one it actually is rather than guessing, then put it right.
Can you replace just the shower without redoing the whole bathroom?
